Common questions
How do I install the app?
It is available on TestFlight. See https://wordassessor.clawworks.com/testflight.
How do I run an assessment?
Open a group, pick a student, choose a word list. Swipe right for correct, left for incorrect, or use the buttons. Turn swiping off in Settings if you prefer buttons only.
How do I add words to a list?
Word lists live under Units. Open a unit, open or create a list inside it, and add words one at a time.
Can I reassess only the words a student missed?
Yes. After a first assessment, the app offers “unknown words only” as well as the full list. Results for the words you skip are left untouched.
How do I change a group’s students?
Open the group and add or remove students there. A student can be in several groups at once, so removing them from one leaves them in the others, with their history intact.
What does “Mirrored for student” do?
It flips the word so it reads correctly for a student sitting across from you. Toggle it in Settings.
I deleted a word by mistake. Are past results gone?
No. Deleted words are hidden from your lists, but their results are kept, so old reports stay accurate.
Why is a student missing from a group report?
Reports only count students you have actually assessed on that list. Anyone you haven’t is left out of the count, not counted as not knowing the words.
Will my data sync between devices?
Yes, with an account. Sign in on the other device and your groups, word lists and results are there. Guest sessions stay on one device and are deleted when you sign out, so create an account if you want to keep your work.
